Legacy Mahoning Avenue Clean up: Brings the Community Together
A little drizzle was not enough to slow down the Legacy team.
On Saturday, Legacy Tire & Auto Repair hosted the Legacy Clean Drive: Mahoning Avenue, bringing together dozens of employees, friends, family members, neighbors and community supporters for a morning focused on giving back to the corridor we are proud to call home.
Armed with gloves, trash bags and plenty of enthusiasm, volunteers headed out along Mahoning Avenue to pick up litter and help make a visible difference in the neighborhood.
For Legacy, the cleanup was about more than filling bags with trash. It was about showing pride in the community where we work, live and serve.
A Community Effort
One of the best parts of the morning was seeing so many different people come together for the same purpose.
Our Legacy employees showed up in a big way, joined by family members, friends and members of the community who were willing to spend a drizzly Saturday morning helping clean up Mahoning Avenue. That support meant a lot to us.
Legacy’s roots in Youngstown go back generations, and we believe being a local business means doing more than serving customers inside the shop. It also means investing time and energy into the community that continues to support us.
A Special Visit From Mayor Derrick McDowell
We were also grateful to welcome Youngstown Mayor Derrick McDowell, who stopped by during the cleanup to visit with the team and show his support. McDowell began his term as Youngstown’s 52nd mayor in January 2026.
Mayor McDowell, thank you for taking the time to stop by and recognize everyone who came together for the neighborhood. We truly appreciated the visit and the encouragement!

Taking Pride in Mahoning Avenue
Mahoning Avenue is not simply where Legacy Tire & Auto Repair is located. It is part of our history.
That is why initiatives like the Legacy Clean Drive matter to us. Whether we are investing in our own property, supporting another local organization or spending a Saturday morning picking up along the corridor, it all comes back to the same idea: take care of the place that has taken care of you.
We are incredibly thankful to every employee, friend, family member, neighbor and community volunteer who joined us. The weather may not have been perfect, but the turnout and spirit absolutely were.
And this will not be the last time you see the Legacy team finding ways to give back.
Youngstown-Born. Valley-Driven.
